Introduction
Dear Artist,
Writing this book helped me figure out that, I was doing what I was supposed to be doing in my
life. I was living my bliss once and for all. And although this is just my introductory part I am
telling you one of the most important things I learned, to being an artist. And that is the
“Starting”. (See chapter 1)
Very simple word to say and write but trying it is different. A lot of things happen when you’re
about to start on anything. Attempting to start and write this Introduction was the hardest part.
Not the actual doing part! It was all the noise in my head that kept me from doing. Still to my
despair could not figure out why I still had failure to un-block. (See chapter 2)
Not to mention all the other distractions in the 21st century. I will show you how to turn the
noise volume down and help you make an atmosphere that will make you feel at home in your
studio. (See chapter 3 ) Once I get you past that the fun parts begin! If you’re not having fun with
your art like you used to, there is probably a better reason than you just grew out of it.
I want to prove to you that you are a better artist than you make yourself believe. I’m going to
save you time and money! (See chapter 4) By the time you’re finished with this book you will be
comfortable, organized and your creative juices will be spilling over your canvases.
My intentions is to help you in these little dead end streets that artist sometimes find
themselves. Other artists call this Artists block which came from another art form called writers
block. Throughout this book I will be hyper- linking all Underlined subjects & pictures to help
point and guide you to more resources. This will help you get motivated and get informed with
new ideas! (See chapter 5)
This book is filled with things to do, places to go and people you will see.

Artist's Block
By Douglas A. Rohloff
Definition:
Artist's block is a condition, primarily associated
with any visual art hobby or profession, in which
an artist loses the ability to produce any new
work. The condition varies widely in intensity.
It can be as minor as the difficulty to start or finish
a project or task in hand.
At the other extreme, some blocked artist's have
not even been able to start or complete any work
for years on end. Some have even abandoned
their passion and careers!!
Throughout history Artist's block has been a
documented problem.
Professionals who have struggled with the
affliction include Leonardo da Vinci and pop
culture cartoonist Charles M. Schulz.
It can manifest as the affected artist viewing their
work as inferior or unsuitable, when in fact it
could be the opposite.
Symptoms:
Artist's block symptoms usually develop
slowly, often over several months, and may
include:
Empty Canvas?
Not in the Mood?
Making Mistakes?
Bored?
